If you are a worshiper of great architecture, then the Fort St George of Chennai is a complete delight for you. The fort was raised by the British East India Company in 1640. It also houses the St Mary’s Church, a museum with ancient artefacts and Wellesley House with some paintings of the Fort Governer. Another architectural wonder of the city is the National Art Gallery flaunting Indo-Saracenic architecture. The gallery has four sections, including Tanjore Painting Gallery, Ravi Varma Painting Gallery, Indian Traditional Art Gallery and Decorative Art Gallery.
